LETS SCRAP - Looking for a new DT May - July

The three month term of the LETS SCRAP design team will be ending on April 30th so it is time to look for new design team members. Are you the one who will be motivating our members, setting up a challenge, making 4 examples of sketches every month and a great and active member on our new design team? Then this might be your chance!

Send your interpretation of this sketch (can also be a single LO) to letsscrap2011@gmail.com (no bigger than 500Kb) Also send us a link to your blog or online gallery and tell us why YOU are the perfect design team member for us! We are looking forward to see those e-mails coming!

The deadline for this application is April 20th and we will announce our new design team on the 25th of April.

M&M April kits done and May now open

Last week I was so excited to finally get my BO BUNNY TIMELESS papers to create the April kit for the M&M Kit club. I really enjoyed playing with them and managed to finish the kit in time. LET'S SCRAP SKETCH - 3-30-11

The latest sketch has been uploaded to LETS SCRAP for this weeks Sketch challenge. Cheri created this awesome sketch, inspired by Rosangela Philippsen from Brazil http://scrapbyrophilippsen.blogspot.com/ I found this awesome Bo Bunny paper in my stash and didn't have enough to do a double page, so just created my layout based on the left side. I just loved that tree !

I finally got to play with my new Martha Stewart scissors too (that cut grass).. it has 5 blades.. I loved it ! LOL

Found some cute birds on some free papers (that you get with scrapbooking magazines) and cut them out to add to my page.. The flower cutting took a while.. but I like the end effect ! Used up my Fancy Pants Rubons again.. Just LOVE these !!

LETS SCRAP SKETCH - 3-23-11

Good afternoon !

The sketch challenge for this week has been loaded over at LETS SCRAP.

This is this weeks sketch by Cheri O' Neill:

I am still working through my friends pages and created this layout for her.. the photos worked so well with this sketch.

I am also taking part in SCRAP FITS Challenge # 39 this month. To use glitz and glam, bling, etc to make a feminine layout. I used gold paint, pretty blingy butterflies and gold stick pins for a bit of glitz and glam on this layout.

I used a small violin on the page ..

and there was old Portuguse money which I folded and added to the layout.. it was green, so I added extra green to the layout to blend it in.

I inked chipboard elements to match the page and painted others gold for the remainder of the title.

Added ribbons for a nice feminine feel to the layout:

Wow, I am officially exhausted.. Nutty M and me (Sweet M) just returned from hosting our 3rd annual Scrapbooking Retreat..

16 scrap-a-holics (plus us 2 SCOUT LEADERS) drove down to Hartebeestpoort Dam (Stonehaven Lodge) and spent 4 days and 3 nights, scrapping up a storm, playing games and doing challenges.

It was an amazing weekend.

HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY !

LIFE IS SHORT, DRINK GREEN DRINKS...

at least on St. Paddy's day.. LOL

We decided to sneak out at Lunch time from work and went to the local IRISH PUB for a green drink (OK, they looked more blue.. rather teal.. LOL)

Yikes.. my head feels like 10 leprecauns are running around in my head...

Luckily one of our bosses came with, so we couldn't get into trouble.. GIGGLE...

Oh well.. CHEERS to a Happy St. Paddy's.. enjoy it!

Let's Scrap your Stash - Challenge # 2

Ok on to challenge 2 of the Lets Scrap your Stash challenges.
I used sketch ls127 for this from Cheri O' Neill

This weeks challenge is to:
- Use 5 Brads (I used 6 ... along the top and bottom of scallop)
- Use 3 different stamps (I used 4.. I have had these stamps for about 3 years and never used them yet.. the top left corner stamps, the swirls at bottom, Beautiful and Heart)
- Use 3 pattern papers (I used ONLY scrap for this !! All these pattern papers were from my March BEACH kit at M&M Kit Club.. I had left overs and the colors worked so well.. ! Even the blue scallop background was a piece of scrap paper from my ONCE UPON A TIME page..)

This is my husband. He hates cats.. Meet NORMAN.. the cat that lives at the guest house where my husband has been for 12 months. My husband even went and bought Prince Norman a bowl and food.. amazing.. how one cat can change him.. LOL..
Close up of title: I used old Moonsgummies Letter that I have also had for about 5 years. The cat stickers I have had for even longer and really dug them out.. nice to make use of all the old stash you have lying around !

Two of the stamps that I used and more stickers.. these cats were too cute!

Lets Scrap your stash Challenge #1

I have recently joined a group at Lets Scrap, called Scrap your Stash.

Challenge #1 for March was:
- Use 2 metal embellishments (my hearts and bookplate)
- Use 2 different ribbons (the ric rac, and the ribbons threaded through my hearts)
- Use 3 different punches (the border at the bottom, the 2 different flower sizes)

Here is my layout. I used our latest Family Portrait pics.


Paper used: Fancy Pants background and Prima range of Wedding papers.

I created these awesome doily flowers (TUTORIAL from Scrap - A - Little: HERE)

My metal elements were the hearts that I added to the page and my bookplate.

Lets Scrap - Challenge 88

This weeks Challenge over at Lets Scrap is to doodle on your pages.

This really had me working out of my box. I don't mind the occassional stitching and outlines that I do on my layouts, but a whole lot of doodling? Wow !!

Anyhow.. I took up the challenge and am actually happy with result..

I used Sketch 10-6-10 of Cheri 'O Neill @ Lets Scrap.

I once went to a STYLE MAGAZINE Ladies Lifestyle day.. at the end of the day they had all sorts of alternative healers / lifestyle options there... My friend and I decided to be daring and had our palms read (I really don't believe in this sort of thing at all).. She took a palm print and then wrote a few things about you on the paper.. was just a quick session. She mentioned that I would have a career change (after working 10 years for the same company, I resigned shortly thereafter to become a housewife and scrapbook teacher.. WOW !!).. said I had allergies (spot on), insanely generous (I suppose I am that too.. LOL)... was actually scary how spot on she was with a lot of things..

I started the page by putting a circle template on the page and appyling GLIMMER SPRITZ all over.. I then removed the circle template and had a white circle outline which I then outlined with my pen.


Outlined all my elements with a pen too.

These were things the lady wrote about me..

My attempt at freehand doodling.. LOL

I doodled on my photo corners too.. and added LOTS of journalling.. that was fun..

LET'S SCRAP SKETCH 3-16-11

This is this week's sketch on Lets Scrap:


I created my card for a friend at work. He is mad about fishing and so I made him this. Going to give him a fish birthday party at work with fish hanging from his ceiling in his office and getting fish and chips for lunch.. should be fun !

Hope he likes the card. I got to use old stash I haven't touched in years.

Latest Layout

I am still making my way through pages that I am doing for my friend. This is another page on her son Liroy when he arrived in Santiago de Compostela after his 26 day Pilgrimage.




I used THIS SKETCH from Let's scrap for the layout

The shell is symbolic of the Pilgrimage and he wore it around his neck (see main picture).

Used some stamps sticking out of the top of the title.

These were the last coins he had on the day.
